Chitlang is the hub for the weekend visitors. There are more than dozen resorts and lodges with different range of services. Nowadays, many households also offer homestays.
Dining
Traditional Nepali food - Daal Bhaat is commonly available in Chitlang. Newari cuisines are also popularly available in the restaurants of Chitlang.
Medical Emergencies
Not far from Kathmandu, Chitlang has health post next to the Tupikhel village. There is a dispensary for medicines at Narayan Hiti Bazaar.
MBUST has MoU with the central hospital of the Nepal APF Hospital at Balambu for priority health service in the hospital.
Transportation
Taxis
As a scattered villages pre-book taxis may be available. Three wheelers (tempo) serves as Taxi in Chitlang on call basis.
Once may explore vehicle rental services in the resorts and lodges.
Public buses run through Chitlang from Palung, Bajra Barahi and even from Hetauda during the morning and day time. The last bus that leaves Kathmandu from Kalanki is around 16:00 hours. Not very regular, but one may get public buses every hour during the day time to go to Kathmandu.
